HT Garden Buildings FAQs

What is Nordic spruce?

Nordic spruce is a slow growth timber that is kiln-dried to make it even stronger, so it has a light colour and is very durable.  It has been used for construction purposes for many centuries and is also easy to stain to different colours.  It is also a renewable building material and contributes to a sustainable lifestyle.

Does your wood have certification?

Yes, we use FSC Certified woods that only come from sustainable forests.  You can see the FSC logo on our product pages and this guarantees the wood comes from sustainable but also ethical sources including coming from areas where old-growth forests are preserved.

What maintenance is needed?

We can recommend on the best maintenance for the product that you buy but generally, a preservative treatment is best which may including dipping or painting.  A weather protective paint as a top layer can help protect against UV damage.  These measures will increase the lifespan of the garden building and regular inspections every six months will show if maintenance work is needed to refresh these protections.

Can you install the garden building?

Yes, we offer to supply or also supply and install any products that we offer.  This means if you don’t want to put it together yourself, we can do it for you.  Just let us know which service you require when you are placing your order.
